The Dawlish Ditto Trail
What are the ditto's I hear you ask.
The ditto's are magical beings who live in these houses around dawlish. So 9 intrepid explorers from Exeter IVC set out to see if we could find all their houses. We were supplied with a map of the town which indicated where you could find the houses so long as the dittos hadn't moved them. We were charged with finding all 77 houses.
As this is not a competition we could take our time so arranged coffee breaks and Sunday lunch at the Brunswick Arms. All in all a fun day out.
The Dittos were originally characters in bedtime stories created by David Hardie for his son. In 2021 after recovering from a serious illness, david passed the time in lockdown by carving miniature houses out of wood. Joined by his sister, Diana Townsend, the project blossomed into a community effort. Local businesses and volunteers helped install brackets, wiring, and solar lights. The trail now features 77 hand crafted houses hidden throughout Dawlish to promote local businesses and tourism.
Crazy Golf at Dawlish
A few members got together and 'played around' on the Dawlish seafront. It is hoped this competition will become an annual event.
Bright lights, costumes and music. Fun for all the family.
